South Carolina 2022 General Election Information

State Capitol of South Carolina, Columbia

South Carolina’s 2022 General Election will take place on November 8. All active, registered South Carolina voters are eligible to vote in the general election.

There are three ways to vote: by mail (absentee), early voting, or Election Day.

To vote by mail, qualified voters must request an absentee ballot through the County Voter Registration and Elections Offices. The deadline to submit a request is October 28 at 5 p.m. Your ballot must be returned and received by November 8 (Election Day) – and remember to sign the ballot envelope! You can track the status of your absentee ballot online.

Most early voting locations will open the week of October 24 and remain open until November 5. You can find nearby early voting locations or your designated precinct by visiting your Election Commission website. If you prefer to vote on Election Day, you will need to visit your designated precinct, which can be found on your voter registration card or the link above.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters must bring a current and valid photo ID. Any voters waiting in line at 7 p.m. will still have a chance to cast their ballots.

BE INFORMED. GET INVOLVED. HAVE A VOICE.
