Idaho 2022 General Election Information

Room for meetings, debates and listening sessions at the boise state capitol.

Idaho’s 2022 General Election will take place on November 8. All active, registered Idaho voters are eligible to vote in the general election.

There are three ways to vote: by mail (absentee), early voting, or Election Day.

To vote by mail, you must request an absentee ballot through your Secretary of State’s Office or by submitting a paper application to your County Clerk’s Office. The deadline to submit a request is October 28 at 5 p.m. You can return your ballot via mail or at a designated drop off or drop-box location. The county clerk must receive your ballot by 8 p.m. on November 8 (Election Day) – and remember to sign the ballot envelope! You can track the status of your absentee ballot online.

Most early voting locations will open the week of October 24 and remain open until November 4. You can find nearby early voting locations by visiting your Secretary of State’s website.

Prefer to vote on Election Day? You will need to visit your designated precinct, which can be found on your voter registration card or by visiting your Secretary of State’s Office. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and voters must bring a valid photo ID or a signed personal identification affidavit. Any voters waiting in line at 8 p.m. will still have a chance to cast their ballots.

BE INFORMED. GET INVOLVED. HAVE A VOICE.
