Georgia 2022 General Election Information

Atlanta Georgia

Georgia’s 2022 General Election will take place on November 8. All active, registered Georgia voters are eligible to vote in the general election.

There are three ways to vote: by mail (absentee), early voting, or Election Day.

To vote by mail, you must request an absentee ballot through the Secretary of State’s Online Voter Registration website. The deadline to submit a request is October 28. You can return your ballot via mail or at a designated drop off or drop-box location. Your ballot must be returned and received by November 8 (Election Day) – and remember to sign the ballot envelope! You can track the status of your absentee ballot online.

Most early voting locations will open the week of October 17 and remain open until November 4. Unlike on Election Day, you do not have to vote at an assigned polling location during early voting. You can find nearby early voting locations by visiting your Secretary of State’s website.

Prefer to vote on Election Day? You will need to visit your designated precinct, which can be found by visiting your Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters must bring a current and valid photo ID with signature. Any voters waiting in line at 7 p.m. will still have a chance to cast their ballots.
