Reminder: Tennessee 2026 Primary and General Election

Before casting your ballot, take a moment to confirm your voting information and review what you’ll need to bring to the polls.

Key Information:

• Check Your Voting Information: The voter registration deadline for the Primary and General Election was July 7. Confirm your voter registration status and polling place information through Tennessee’s voter information lookup.
• What’s on My Ballot: Ballot content varies by district and location. Tennessee’s Primary Election includes Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, odd-numbered state Senate districts, state House, and Republican and Democratic State Executive Committees. Some voters may also see General Election races for vacant state judicial offices and county offices, depending on where they live. Review your sample ballot through Tennessee’s election resources.
• Voter ID: Tennessee requires voters to present an approved photo ID when voting in person. Review acceptable forms of identification before heading to the polls.
• Voting on Election Day: Polls will be open on Thursday, August 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polling places and hours may vary by county, so verify your assigned polling place and local hours before heading out.

Don’t forget to mark your calendar: Tennessee’s State and Federal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3. The voter registration deadline by mail or online is Monday, October 5 and early voting runs from Wednesday, October 14 through Thursday, October 29.
