Your vote matters, and the first step is making sure you’re registered! Register by Monday, April 6 to participate in Tennessee’s State and County Primary Election on May 5.
- Voter Registration: If you have a Tennessee driver’s license or a photo ID, you can register or update your information through the Tennessee Online Voter Registration. For more information on how to register, visit the Secretary of State website.
- Registered Tennessee voters who live in a county with races on the May 5 ballot are eligible to participate. Because ballots vary by county, you can use the Tennessee Voter Registration Lookup or GoVoteTN to confirm your registration status, district, polling place, and sample ballot. Please remember to bring a valid federal or Tennessee state photo ID when voting in person.
- What’s on my Ballot: The May 5 ballot includes state judicial offices and applicable county offices, which vary by county. Use the GoVoteTN portal to preview your specific sample ballot.
- Early Voting: Early voting runs from Wednesday, April 15 through Thursday, April 30. Early voting locations and hours vary by county. Use the Tennessee Voter Registration Lookup to find your early voting location.
- Absentee Voting: Some Tennessee voters may qualify to vote absentee by mail. Review eligibility requirements and request information through the Guide to Absentee Voting.
- Voting on Election Day: You can vote on Election Day, Tuesday, May 5, at your assigned polling place. Confirm where your polling place is located through the Tennessee Voter Registration Lookup.
